Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Cabernet Franc from Cakebread Cellars opens with an inviting blackberry and Dr. Brown’s cream soda bouquet with hints of black cherry and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, savory, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a very tasty sarsaparilla and black cherry blend with notes of oak and wintergreen. We also detected hints of black licorice and green olive. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and its big boy dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. We would pair this Cab Franc with root beer braised beef short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This wine opens with captivating aromas of black cherry, red plum, fennel seeds, hints of violet, and sweet toasted oak. The palate reveals layered notes of fresh raspberry, strawberry jam, dried sage, cigar box, and vanilla. It is subtly balanced, featuring elegant tannins, layers of sweet fruit, dried herbs, and baking spices.
