Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Carmen opens with a black plum, pencil lead, and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of menthol, cinnamon, and saddle leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, fresh, and shows nice tension. The flavor profile is a red currant and black plum blend with notes of graphite and dark cherry. We also detected hints of cedar, tobacco, and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its well-managed polished medium tannins are very nicely extended. We would pair this impressive Cab with a beef wellington. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Deep violet-red color. Gold 2022 shows great complexity on the nose with a fresh fruit profile that blends elegantly with notes of cedar and graphite.
