Wine Review: Wow! I always have very high expectations for wines that cost $50 or more. Well this wine does not disappoint and we were blown away with the quality. This is one of the finest Chardonnays we have tried in 2007. This light yellow white wine opens with a very fruit forward expressive bouquet that is quite inviting. On the palate, this wine explodes with fruit flavors in the mouth. This is serious Chardonnay. The flavor profile is apricot and tropical fruits. The wine is tremendously well balanced. Serve this wine at 55 degrees for optimum pleasure. This wine would match well with one of my favorite meals. Chicken St. Timothy (Chicken sautéed with heavy cream, butter, Chardonnay, mushrooms & scallions) The finish is pleasant and easy going. Kudos to the winemaker. Jeff Gordon’s got a winner here. I would put my name behind this wine as well. Call Buffalo and get some. I highly recommend this wine. Cheers! Ken

Winemaker Notes: This is the second year of production for this highly acclaimed wine. Moderate crop levels, coupled with a late growing season, allowed these 30-year-old vines from a single vineyard just inside Sonoma County to produce grapes with tropical fruit aromas as well as flavors of citrus, melon, pear and honey. It is well balanced with a full, round finish. The wine was barrel fermented in 100 percent French oak.
