Wine Review: Some colleagues of mine & I recently got together for a dinner at Meritage and this wine was clearly everyone’s favorite white wine of the evening. This light yellow wine opens with a very floral and apricot like bouquet. On the palate, the wine is crisp, a bit viscous, and has very nice lime and citrus like flavors. On the finish, the wine is dry and lingers slightly. This wine was a very nice opening wine for our dinner and paired perfectly with my pheasant dish. If you haven’t experienced Viognier, this wine would be a perfect one to start with. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Varietal viognier nose, with stone fruit (apricot, peach) and floral (orange blossom) overtones. Very rich on the palate, with white peach, citrus and mineral flavors and a persistent finish.
