Wine Review: We recently joined a client for dinner at Gibbett Hill in Groton, MA. Our client is fond of Cab and steak so I thought I would try this Mitolo since I have enjoyed their Shiraz in the past. We were very pleased with the selection but note this wine is full throttle and not for the shy at heart. I would decant this wine for more than an hour if I opened it at home. This very dark opaque purple wine opens with a very pleasant blueberry like bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is round, with juicy and very concentrated blackberry like flavors with hints of menthol and blueberry. The finish is dry and lingers slightly with a touch of heat. This wine went well with our NY strip steaks. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Vibrant Purple colour. The fragrant nose shows blackcurrant, Notes cassis and mulberries aromas with a touch of cedar and spice. This opulent, rich and powerful Cabernet displays lush red and black berry fruits complexed by chocolate, mocha and forest floor characters. This mid-palate shows immense power and concentration which are followed by pillars of ripe, silky tannins. The seamless integration of oak, tannin and fruit allow this distinguished wine to be drunk now.
