Wine Review: This wine from the famous Stagecoach Vineyard is almost black in color. It opens with a black currant like bouquet with hints of anise and spice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, juicy, and full flavored. The flavor profile is a spicy black currant. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are slightly extended. This wine would pair perfectly with a pepper encrusted NY Strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A worthy successor to the highly praised 2004 vintage, this 2005 offering is tightly wound with good weight and structure for the cellar. Given time to aerate in the glass, a classic nose of dark fruits, spice and pipe-shop tobacco emerges. The flavors of juicy plum or dark cherry are accented by bright acidity and firm yet pliant tannins. Notes of vanilla and caramel carry through the finish.
