Wine Review: This Pinot from Landmark seems to be consistent and show well every vintage. We gave the 2007 the nod again at this year’s Boston Wine Expo. It is a ruby colored wine and opens with a light spicy raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, easy to drink with light raspberry flavors and a touch of spice. The finish is dry and its light tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Grand Detour Pinot Noir is a blend of five Sonoma Coast vineyards: Kanzler, Keller Estate, Flocchini, Gap's Crown and Armagh. The result is a wine that exhibits great typicity and elegant balance. The cool, dry growing season yielded small berries with concentrated flavors of raspberry and strawberry. It was aged in 33% new oak for ten months. This is an elegant, classic Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. This wine will pair well with game, duck, and salmon as well as mushroom accented dishes.
