Wine Review: Medium pale ruby in color, this Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon presents with a curious array of herb and spice aromas, including anise seed, eucalyptus leaves, paprika and mesquite. Upon entry, the wine is medium-bodied and fruit forward, paced by red raspberry, strawberry and rhubarb flavors, reminiscent of a Sweet Tart candy. Herbal notes and black tea develop at the mid-palate. There is a surprising amount of lively acidity throughout that supports a cheerful finish. Pair with grilled tuna and balsamic glaze. - Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: The first vintage of 3 Rings Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep black color in the bottle, with a squid ink hue to it. It has aromas of subtle and sophisticated spice, cassis, crushed tobacco leaf, bay leaf, cedar and vanilla. The palate has a fine and generous mouth-feel with predominant jam characters, vanilla, boysenberry; hints of toast and dark chocolates complement this full-bodied, well- balanced and surprisingly powerful tasting wine. This wine pairs nicely with fried tofu and spicy ginger sesame sauce, beef stir fry with fresh pickled ginger or sticky barbequed beef ribs.
