Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Carignano based wine from Sardinia opens with a red plum and mild raspberry bouquet with hints of baby aspirin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth, and polished. The flavor profile is plum and mild black currant blend with notes of sage and stone dust. I also detected hints of mocha and faint cedar. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and refined moderate tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this very nice Italian red wine with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A deep ruby red color, this harmonious wine displays aromas of ripe red fruits such as black cherry, wild herbs, and spices. On the palate, the wine is soft and elegant with fine tannins and notes of sage, myrtle, rosemary, and vanilla. Notes of pepper and licorice add an interesting spiciness before a harmonious and persistent finish. Pair with grilled steak, game, or aged cheeses.
