Wine Review: This rustic red blend from the Sardinia region of Italy is a deep red color, which begins with aromas of spiced black plum, sauteed mushrooms, red cherry compote, garden compost, licorice, and a note of tar. On the palate this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is dense, balanced, and smooth. The flavors include spiced black plum, blackberry, graphite, tobacco, cedar, and black tea with notes of dried herbs, dark chocolate and black cherry. The grippy tannins last for a long time in the slightly long finish. Serve with braised short ribs with rosemary. - Mark
