Wine Review: This ruby colored red blend from Alaine Jaume in Côtes du Rhône opens with a red plum and slate bouquet with hints of black cherry and herbal tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and approachable. The flavor profile is a black cherry and mild tobacco blend with notes of graphite and black plum. We also detected hints of oolong tea and toasty oak. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins build-up nicely and are nicely sustained. We would pair this Côtes du Rhône with a juicy Angus burger or with marinated grilled steak tips. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: The color is purple-tinged garnet. The aromatic range of the nose goes from fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) to spices. The palate is big and full-flavored, with silky-smooth tannins and aromas of the fruit already mentioned. The finish introduces touches of licorice and pepper. A Côtes du Rhône with great complexity for an everyday drinking. A classic Rhône to drink between 1 and 4 years. Pair with grilled meat, lasagnas, tomatoes sauce pasta or raviolis.
