Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero opens with a musty old library book and blackberry bouquet with hints of black licorice nips and black coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel balanced, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is a cedar and brambly blackberry blend with notes of loam and dark coffee. We also detected hints in of bay leaf, black raspberry, and prune. The finish is dry, and its moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite some time. This wine benefits from some early aeration. We recommend decanting it for a bit before serving with a slow cooked pot roast with lots of root vegetables. Enjoy – Ken and Mark

Winemaker Notes: Color: A clean, bright-colored wine with a ruby-red hue and some violet undertones.
Nose: Medium to powerful aromatics with hints of fresh red berry fruits, such as red currants and raspberries, together with toasted and roasted coffee bean notes.
Palate: A silky, elegant entry on the palate. Deliciously rich with good acidity and very pleasant, well integrated tannins. Intense red berry fruit flavors come through in the finish. The oak is harmoniously integrated bringing hints of toast and vanilla, characteristic of a wine aged in American oak.
