Wine Review: This medium ruby colored blend from Allegrini opens with a balsamic and black olive bouquet with hints of black cherry and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. We also found it to be balance, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a black plum and olive blend with notes of black cherry and black tea. There were hints of gentle oak, kumquats and cinnamon mixed in. The finish is friendly, and its tannins stick around for a while. This wine would pair nicely with a charcuterie platter filled with cured meats, sharp cheeses, nuts, stone wheat crackers or a hunter’s stew. Enjoy - Ken and Mark

Winemaker Notes: Ruby red in color with purple hues, this wine features light hints of raisins, sophisticated notes of vanilla, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. It is elegant and well balanced, with a good structure. It has a long, velvety finish and soft tannins. It pairs well excels when matched with Parma ham and fine-cured Zibello pork loin, as well as Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmesan) and pecorino and cheeses.
