Wine Review: This very dark garnet colored Syrah from Washington state opens with a black plum, black tea and moist pipe tobacco bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and savory with plus acidity. The flavor profile is similar to the nose with flavors of black plum and oolong tea with notes of bacon and black licorice. I also detected hints of black cherry, black pepper and sage. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle tannins drift away nicely. This is a very food friendly Syrah that would pair well with filet mignon. Enjoy – Ken
