Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc from Amici opens with a fragrant gooseberry bouquet with hints of papaya, wet grass, and passion fruit. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth and a little zesty. The flavor profile is a slightly tart gooseberry and green bean blend with notes of passion fruit and asparagus. We also detected hints of stone fruit, kiwi, minerality, and light basil. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This wine benefits greatly with a little aeration. We would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with an asparagus risotto, a Greek niçoise salad or a with goat cheese. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2024 Amici Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant expression of classic California character, opening with an inviting nose of pineapple, kiwi, and fresh-cut grass layered with hints of hay, muscat florals, and a touch of piña colada. On the palate, it bursts with energetic flavors of juniper berry, lime zest, and lemon-lime, offering a bright, zippy profile that’s both refreshing and true to varietal. Crisp and clean, this wine delivers everything you want in a Sauvignon Blanc. Pure citrus, lively acidity, and an irresistibly drinkable finish.
