Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Mourvèdre opens with an interesting bouquet featuring strawberry, green olive, and lime along hints of cedar, ale, and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is a unique blend of green olive, oregano, and blackberry with notes of stewed red plum and cedar. We also detected hints of oolong tea, chocolate, moist mushrooms, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Mourvèdre with a venison steak or hunter’s stew. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Nose: Heady, dark cherry cola and blackberry wrapped in spice and splashed with a touch of cream and dark smoky oak and tobacco.
Palate: Dark briar patch black fruit and currant with exotic spice, provincial herb, anise, and black pepper. Well-balanced acidity heightens the palette and leads to mouth-filling leather textures dancing with the brooding mood of the wine. Long on the palate with hints of cherry cola, bittersweet chocolate, and tobacco rolling into a deep and dark ethereal toasted oak finish that stirs your lust for the darkness...
