Wine Review: This midnight black colored wine from Chateauneuf-du-Pape opens with a fragrant and inviting black licorice and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar plank and blackberry blend with notes of black licorice and nicely integrated minerality. I also detected hints of blueberry and plum mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins drift away nicely. This wine is food friendly and would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
