Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cinsault from Andrew Murray opens with a boysenberry and kumquat bouquet with hints of pomegranate, pine sap, and violet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, savory, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a concentrated pomegranate and red raspberry blend with notes of rhubarb and kumquat. I also detected hints of tart red plum, dried herbs, and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and faint tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Cinsault with lamb lollipops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2023 Vintage of this wine is perhaps our best effort to date, benefiting from the small yields and bountiful sunshine. It is at once fruity and savory, with aromas and flavors of tart red berries, rhubarb, forest floor, and orange rind. In the mouth, the wine is surprisingly rich and layered with a long, silky finish. Enjoy this bottling over the next 3-5 years.
