Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Syrah from Andrew Murray opens with a black cherry and black plum bouquet with hints of light cedar, delicate wet river stone, and cigar wrapper. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, smooth, and has good tension. The flavor profile is a black plum and mild cherry-cola blend with notes of earth and cedar. We also detected hints of nutmeg, chocolate, and strawberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and refined tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Syrah with marinated tri-tip steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2023 Roasted Slope is a dead ringer for a high-end Cote-Rotie with aromas and flavors of black cherry, mixed berry pie, cocoa, toasty French Oak, white flowers, honey, and peach. The aroma alone really takes you on a journey. The wine is a very dark, brooding red/black with ripe, sweet tannins and a very velvety mouthfeel and a long finish balanced by natural acidity. This wine will start to sing in about 5 years and improve for a decade or more.
