Wine Review: This Pinot Noir is light ruby in color and slightly cloudy. Oak and tobacco aromas leap from the glass, followed by rubbed saddle leather and teriyaki sauce. The core flavors are strawberry and pomegranate with hints of red currant and candy apple. Sage, fennel and ginger snap flavors add complexity. Both the look and taste of this wine are rustic with old-world styling, but this is a well-built wine with generous minerals, grippy tannins, medium oak and a soft finish. This Pinot would pair well with casual fare like a fig, prosciutto and arugula flatbread, but it would also go well with fine dining veal or duck dishes. - Jeoff

Winemaker Notes: As with all our Pinot Noirs, we are "hands-on" with our "La Bauge" Pinot Noir. This forward drinking Pinot shows dried cranberry/berry fruit with earth and tobacco notes. The body is medium weight yet carries immense waves of flavors, including sarsaparilla, pomegranate and smoke. A well-integrated wine that is superb now. A wonderful accompaniment to thick, oak-grilled pork chops, wild game, or coq au vin.
