Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored Sangiovese based red blend from AVIVO opens with a shy and gentle cedar and red licorice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and fresh. The flavor profile is a gentle red plum and strawberry licorice blend with notes of cinnamon tea and black pepper. I also detected hints of bay leaf. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild fine tannins linger nicely. I would pair this Sangiovese with seafood fra diavolo. Enjoy - Ken
