Wine Review: Badia a Coltibuono is an excellent representation of old meets new. Although they are considered to be one of the older wineries, the wines are produced in a more modern style. The nose has notes of dried herbs and red fruits like raspberries and strawberries. On the palate, the wine opens with sweeter flavors of dried cherries and raspberries on a bed of Herbes de Provence. The finish has mild acidity compared to more traditional Chianti and tight tannins. Overall, this is a well-constructed wine that needs a hint more focus. It would pair with a well-seasoned grilled pork loin. – Nicolay

Winemaker Notes: The color is bright ruby, the nose unveils layers of iris, violet, tobacco, black pepper and marasca cherry. The taste is well-balanced, tightly knit with supple tannins, mineral notes, a mouth cleansing fresh acidity. Warm and persistent.
