Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Beau Marchais opens with a black cherry and black licorice bouquet with hints of wet stone and red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is tremendous. It is well-balanced, silky, and smooth. The flavor profile is black raspberry and oak blend with notes of stony minerality and black plum. We also detected hints of tea and black cherry. The finish is dry and flavors and moderate tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this Pinot before sipping it by the firepit. With food we would pair it with a pork tenderloin or with Pâté Normand. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: 2021 Beau Marchais Soberanes Vineyard Sud Pinot Noir – The Soberanes Vineyard is in the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County and farmed by the dynamic farming duo of Mark Pisoni and Gary Franscioni. The Southern (sud) end of this property ripens earlier than the rest of the vineyard and tends to show a more lush, rich character. Philippe called himself a “child of the south” and I think he’d very much like this wine from the Sud.
