Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel based red blend from Bedrock was built for food and benefits from a very good pairing. It opens with a blackberry and wet stone bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The flavor profile is a stony mineral and blackberry blend with notes of oolong tea and oak. I also detected hints of bay leaf and green olive. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. As I mentioned, this Zin based blend is very food friendly and paired perfectly with my grilled hanger steak at 80 Thoreau in Concord. Enjoy – Ken
