Wine Review: This deep garnet colored Petite Sirah from Yolo county opens with a black tea and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of blackberry, fig and dried herbs. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with elevated acidity. We also found it to be smooth and balanced. The flavor profile is a chewing tobacco and black cherry blend with notes of black tea, fruitcake and rhubarb with some hints of red raspberry. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and soft tannins fade away nicely. This Petite Sirah would pair well with a tangy North Carolina pulled pork dinner or smoked brisket. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
