Wine Review: This California Chardonnay from the San Luis Obispo Coast region is a medium golden yellow color and presents aromas of butter, Bartlett pear, gardenias, pineapple, toasted hazelnuts, and fresh lemon. On the palate it is fresh, yet complex. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy and supple with good balance. It is medium-plus bodied with integrated medium-plus acidity. I found it to be sophisticated, yet enjoyable to most folks. There are flavors of lemon curd, crisp pear, lime, saline, and gentle oak with notes of pear and vanilla. The tangy finish is dry and steely. Serve with a Tuna Poke bowl with creamy avocado. -Mark
