Wine Review: This Pinot from Black Kite was a top finisher in our recent mini-blind tasting. It is translucent and ruby colored. It opens with a stewed plum and raspberry bouquet. We also picked up some hints of juniper, vanilla bean and coffee in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, well-balanced, super smooth and round. The flavor profile is a spiced plum and vanilla cola blend with notes of strawberry and black pepper. We also detected hints of oak and chocolate covered almonds. The finish is dry and it lingers for ages! The Panel would drink this impressive Pinot on its own. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Destined to be a crowd pleaser for its "cherry pie in a glass" character, our 2017 Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir presents a concentrated core of ripe cherry and blackberry nuanced by sweet oak and caramel notes. With time, molasses, allspice and a rich yeastiness further the baked pie impression. For all its fruit complexity, the palate is bright and fresh with an extremely long and sleek finish. Enjoy upon release or cellar for up to 7-11 years.
