Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Black Kite opens with a moist pipe tobacco and green tea bouquet with hints of stone dust, cedar, and cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, super smooth and refined. The flavor profile is spiced red plum and black tea blend with notes of red licorice and red cherry-cola. We also detected some hints of blueberry and faint cedar towards the end. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would drink this Pinot on its own. With food they would pair it with a rack of lamb or with sliced rare duck breast.
