Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Bordeaux grape-based blend from Blackbird is impressive. It opens with a black currant and black plum bouquet with hints of flinty minerality. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral influenced black currant and black olive blend with notes of black tea. As this wine opens up some hints of blueberry, dark chocolate and black cherry arrive. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins stick around for quite a long time. I would decant this very nice wine while preparing your food and serve it with Roy’s rib roast. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Beautiful aromas of cherry, black currant, cedar cigar box, iris, and coffee. Boysenberry pie, fig, and toffee awaken the palate. Supple tannins give buoyancy, leading to a lingering finish of plum, cherry and toasted almond.
