Wine Review: This dark purple colored wine from Bootleg opens with an inviting blueberry and black licorice bouquet with hints of lavender and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, rather smooth and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry and spiced black plum blend with notes of RC cola. I also detected hints oak, dried herbs and touch of blueberry at the very end. On the finish, its moderate tannins build-up and stick around for quite a while along with a little heat. This wine is food friendly, but because of the tannins, it needs something with a bit of fat. I would pair it with braised short ribs. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Prequel is a deep inky purple with a sultry character of dark chocolate, blackberry and Herbs de Provence. On the palate the wine exhibits big silky tannins with opulent density and texture, with flavors of blackberry, vanilla and slight barrel char notes. Prequel has a long finish that will leave you wanting more.
