Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Cakebread opens with a very mild green apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a mild oak influenced green apple and pineapple blend with hints of nutmeg and gentle minerality. The finish is dry and nicely prolonged. This versatile and food friendly Chardonnay is going to be a real popular at nice restaurants a glass pour option. I would pair it with grilled halibut. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: One of the richer, weightier Chardonnays we've made in recent years, our 2014 vintage is redolent of creamy golden apple, Asian pear and honeydew melon with complementary coconut and sweet oak scents. Fresh and lively on the palate, with rich citrus, apple, melon and tropical fruit flavors, it culminates in a long finish featuring pleasing mineral and spice tones.
