Wine Review: This clear and straw-colored Chardonnay from Calera opens with a Bartlett pear and gentle pineapple bouquet with hints of green apple and faint oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is an oak influenced poached Bartlett pear and Nilla wafer blend with notes of caramel green apple. I also detected of chamomile tea and marzipan. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this Chardonnay with a wild mushroom and chicken ravioli is a mild butter cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken
