Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored entry level Pinot Noir from Calera opens with a black tea and black raspberry bouquet with hints of black plum and moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and savory. The flavor profile is pomegranate and loam blend with notes of mild cedar and cola. I also detected hints of teaberry, clove, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are nicely extended. I would pair this Pinot with a pork tenderloin with a pomegranate and blackberry sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This expressive Pinot Noir captivates with inviting aromas of dark raspberry, sandalwood, and clove. On the palate, layers of black currant and ripe cherry unfold over a backdrop of supple tannins, while hints of baking spice add depth, culminating in a long, polished finish.
