Wine Review: Cambria is one of the many branches of Jackson Family wines. I went in thinking this would be a fruit bomb, but wasn't. Although it favored fruit flavors, there was a hint of black pepper and cinnamon on the palate. A well-tempered Syrah that showcases hints of blueberry, some strawberries, cinnamon, and a touch of preserved blackberries. The acidity and tannins are present but tamed and rounded adding to the texture and not interfering with it. This was meant to be enjoyed young so have it over the next 5 years with a nice bleu cheese, cheddar, and bacon burger. - Nicolay

Winemaker Notes: The wine has concentrated dark berry fruit flavors and aromas of earth and mocha. The balanced tannins support the flavors in the wine and contribute to a round, smooth texture in the wine. This wine is a classic cool climate Syrah with a balanced acidity and true varietal characters. We love our Syrah with a rack of lamb, beef short ribs, and fried calamari.
