Wine Review: This easy drinking Spanish red blend made from Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo is a medium ruby color with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, chocolate, leather, dried oregano, and kitchen spice. The fruit focused palate is super smooth and balanced with a medium body and moderate acidity. There are flavors of blackberry, black cherry, oak, and topsoil with notes of tobacco, toffee, and licorice. It finishes with well-managed, round and grippy tannins that are dry and long. I also detected a touch of spice at the very end. This is a very good weeknight bottle to open and enjoy while grilling up some Italian sweet sausages. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: An elegant expression of premium Rioja vines made from Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo. Aged for 3 years as a minimum. 18 months in American and French oak barrels and 18 more in bottle. The result is round, flavorful, and well-balanced wine. The fruit expression features cherries, black plums, ripe blackberries. The oak invites clove, pepper, vanilla, and coconut. Enriched by the complex aromas developed during bottle ageing. Very attractive on the palate, with ripe fruit and spices, tobacco, and toasted oak. Elegant and soft tannins, middle weight, long and complex finish. Delicious with red meat, grills and roasts, game, mature and blue cheeses.
