Wine Review: This Italian dry red wine, made from the Schiava grape, is a translucent pale ruby color and displays aromas of black raspberry, red currant, forest floor, smoke, and lemon peel. Lively and youthful on the palate, it is medium-minus bodied with medium-plus acidity. The mouthfeel is smooth, balanced, and slightly savory. Flavors include black raspberry, oolong tea, anise, and dusty topsoil with a hint of toasted almond. There is a sprinkle of dusty tannins in the dry finish.
