Wine Review: This hazy and ruby colored Brunello di Montalcino from Caparzo opens with a shy black cherry bouquet with hints of dried herbs and strawberries. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is a black cherry and cedar blend with notes of red licorice and raspberry. I also detected hints of tobacco and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins linger and last for quite some time. I would pair this Sangiovese with an Italian briciole. Enjoy - Ken
