Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Carol Shelton opens with a very attractive blueberry and mulberry bouquet with hints of menthol, wet stone, and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity for a Petite Sirah. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a fruit forward stewed plum and mulberry blend with notes of cinnamon and mocha. We also detected hints of cedar, blueberry, and tobacco. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed mild tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this terrific Petite Sirah with Moroccan Lamb Tagine with cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Inky blue purple in color, sweet black razzberry jammy fruit—yum! Dark chocolatey oak spice, bright acidity but very juicy-supple, bit of warm vanilla at finish, structured tannins for aging.
