Wine Review: This hazy and dark ruby colored red blend from Carol Shelton opens with a pencil lead, mushroom, and coffee bouquet with hints of blackberry and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, supple, juicy, and approachable. The flavor profile is a stewed black plum and graphite blend with notes of blackberry pie and dried strawberry. We also detected hints of black licorice and mocha. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and gentle dusty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this crowd pleasing and very quaffable red blend with dry rubbed slow cooked ribs or with a sauteed mushroom and Swiss bacon burger. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Nose shows delightful strawberry and black cherry and blueberry fruit, a bit of savory leather notes and sweet vanilla oak. Lively in mouth but super smooth and creamy, richly textured and layered, elegant and long.
