Wine Review: This clear and ruby colored Zinfandel from Carol Shelton is her best Monga that I have covered over the years. It opens with a red raspberry and anise bouquet with hints of cedar, red plum, and craisin. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is mild raspberry tea and red plum blend with notes of craisin and five spice. We also detected hints of black cherry-cola and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its very fine tannins linger nicely. We would pair this versatile and food friendly Zin with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
