Wine Review: This clear and burgundy colored Sangiovese based wine from Castello di Verrazzano opens with a black cherry and red licorice bouquet with hints of cedar, tobacco, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is a black cherry and graphite blend with notes of cedar and tangy red plum. We also detected hints of black pepper, cassis, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity and dusty tannins showed nice length. We would pair this Chianti Classico Riserva with wild boar bolognese or ragu. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Ruby red color, bright, bright, with light garnet reflections. The nose gives off aromas of red ripe fruits, followed by hints of tobacco, black pepper and sweet woods, that become more complex with maturity. At first binding and full, the tannins blend in well with the fruity component. Long lasting taste, which expresses itself in excellent depth. Pair with grilled meat, roast, and ripe cheese.
