Wine Review: This red blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Bolgheri, Italy is a clear deep ruby color which has an assertive bouquet of ripe black cherry, cedar, earthy tobacco leaf, and violets. On the palate, it is medium plus bodied, robust, moderately acidic, smooth and fruit forward. There are flavors of black currant, blackberry, rhubarb, coffee and hints of blueberry, vanilla, and dried herbs. Generous yet polished tannins and a dry, slightly bitter, long finish. Decant for a bit and serve with Pappardelle with slow cooked beef and porcini ragu. - Mark
