Wine Review: This clear and pale white gold colored Chenin Blanc from Chappellet opens with a white grapefruit, lemon verbena, and quince bouquet with hints of Juicy Fruit gum, lily, and nectarine pit. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, viscous, slightly zesty, and refreshing. The flavor profile is tart white grapefruit and chamomile tea blend with notes of nectarine pit and green melon. We also detected hints of quince, lemon tea, and almond. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. This young white wine benefits from a little aeration. Open the bottle a little early and swirl it for a bit in the near term to bring out its best. Then we would pair this Chenin with parmesan crusted baked walleye or with roast turkey. Enjoy - KWGTP
