Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Pauillac opens with a very fragrant blackberry and cassis bouquet with hints of black tea and graphite. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and fresh. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry and graphite blend with notes of black tea and Australian black licorice. I also detected a hint of black olive, cassis, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins are nicely sustained. This wine paired well with my filet mignon at Forge and Vine in Groton, MA. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2022 vintage is quite simply extraordinary, and the greatest we have ever produced to this day! Balance, rich tannins, aromatic expression (black fruit) and freshness are the watchwords here… Gentle extraction during fermentation was undoubtedly key to revealing the quintessential characteristics of each grape variety.
