Wine Review: This deep purple colored Merlot based wine from Pomerol opens with a fragrant black currant and oak bouquet hints of violets and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, round, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is a graphite, black licorice, and blackberry blend with notes English breakfast tea, cassis, and dark chocolate. We also detected some hints of oak in the mix. The finish is dry, and its well-managed tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this wine with an Italian beef braciole. Enjoy – KWGTP
