Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot based wine from Pomerol opens with cassis and POM juice bouquet with hints of black cherry and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is a cassis and loam blend with notes English breakfast tea, black plum, and mushroom. We also detected a hint of tobacco. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would serve this wine with a flat iron steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
