Wine Review: This medium garnet colored wine from Gigondas opens with clay pot and strawberry bouquet with hints of plum, lavender, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic, round, juicy and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a chalky mineral influenced red plum and black tea blend with notes of oak and loganberry. We also detected hints of black pepper and cinnamon mixed in. The finish is dry and its fine-grained tannins and flavors fade away nicely. This wine would be a perfect paring a Williams Sonoma's bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin roast. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Fragrances from the garrigue—a delicate blend of rosemary and juniper berry—converge with aromas of cherry, prune and sweet bay. It is, however, on the palate that this wine is a revelation, combining power, sharpness, strength and the smoothness of the tannins. Very long-lasting and persistent, Les Dessous des Dentelles Gigondas Rouge is evocative of its limestone-clay terroir. Enjoy it now or keep it in your cellar for 8 to 10 years.
