Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot from Pomerol opens with a black cherry and cassis bouquet with hints of pencil shavings and tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is graphite and black currant blend with notes of rhubarb and black tea. We also detected hints of red plum, oak, and mocha. The finish is dry, and its flavors and well-managed tannins fade away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this impressive Merlot with a filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Trotanoy is a naturally profound, complex, richly concentrated wine with outstanding aging potential. The wine possesses a deep color and a dense, powerful nose, repeated on the palate with the addition of creamy, dark chocolate notes, and a singular concentration of flavor owed to its very old vines.
