Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Merlot from Chateau Trotanoy opens with a cedar and cassis bouquet with hints of graphite and mocha. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is graphite and cedar blend with notes of cassis and mocha. We also detected hints of black plum, black licorice, and black tea. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins drift away nicely. This would pair well with a New York strip steak or with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy - Ken & Dave
