Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Gamay from the Fleurie commune opens with a cedar, anise and black raspberry bouquet with hints of loam. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, soft and super smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle loam, plum and graphite blend with notes of mushroom and black cherry. We also detected some hint of black licorice as well. The finish is dry, and its dusty moderate tannins stick around for a very long time. This wine would pair well with slow cooker beef short ribs. Enjoy - Ken
